Tony's Trombones

Here at Maestro's we are pleased to re-launch our subsidiary company 'TONY'S TROMBONES' which during the '90's, was probably the most prominent trombone retailer in the U.K.  A change of policy and the re-location of Maestro's Music had 'side-lined' the trombone company for the past few years.  Additional retailing space in the store has now enabled us to create a new trombone showroom, together with an excellent testing room.

Together with the well known Phil Parker Brass Studio's of London, we are pleased to be appointed U.K. retailers of the famous 'SHIRES' trombones (U.S.A.) and the 'KANSTUL' Trombones (also U.S.A.)  These small designer companies have been manufacturing bespoke instruments for some time, but until now, they have not been imported into the U.K.   In stock we have the 'SHIRES' small bore  Tenor, the large bore Bb & F and the twin Theyer valve bass trombone.  In 'KANSTUL', we have the large bore Bb & F, and the innovative single trigger lightweight 'George Roberts' Bass Trombone (pictured here with Kerry from our Sales Department)  This instrument, designed by the 'Maestro' himself, has slide tuning and is ideal for the Big-Band Bass trombonist who doesn't need or want the weight of a double trigger instrument.  Tony introduced these instruments to his colleagues on a recent trombone ensemble tour of France - all were favourably received and one member purchased 2 'SHIRES'.  The French players seemed to prefer the 'KANSTUL' and there is now one very happy Frenchman playing his 'KANSTUL' Bb & F!  We are also delighted that the R.A.F have picked 'SHIRES' as their chosen instruments.

For the Student beginner, we are pleased to launch the 'INTERNATIONAL' by Phil Parker of London.  Designed by the team at Parkers, this sudent instrument has the sound and feel of a professional trombone.  For some time before production, Tony had the large bore prototype and he can honestly say that it worked well for all his classical and brass ensemble gigs.  The medium bore Bb Tenor is ideal for beginners - an American-style instrument, easy to blow and very responsive.  Both models come in a very stylish attache style case.

A REMINDER OF OUR OPENING HOURS:  Monday to Friday 10am - 5pm (6pm on Thursdays)  On Saturdays we are open from 9am until 5pm.
